Orthopedic massage is different from other massages. Most other massages focus on treating painful conditions which affect the soft tissues of the body (muscules, etc.). Orthopedic massage focuses on prevention and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal dysfunctions with the goal of normalizing the soft tissues of the body that can contribute to these dysfunctions. Common orthopedic discomfort and pain can originate from sports injuries, postural imbalances due to poor work ergonomics, and chronic pain and scar tissue from surgery or traumatic injury.
